To My Valentine We celebrate 25 "official" Valentines Days today, 28 if we count the years we dated. It's a day to think about the love relationships we share with others, in particular that relationship we share together. A love relationship that has endured the ups and downs that general everyday living brings is one to be cherished....one that I cherish. It is an intimate relationship that is only topped by the relationship we can have with Jesus Christ. Thank you Chuck, for being my valentine for many years...I hope we have many more!
De Soto Beach, Fla. 2/07 Oh my, you can tell we are northerners by the way our legs blend in with the sand . | | |
| We had the opportunity to be in Florida last week. It was in the negative temps. in Iowa but 70's in Tampa. We did a lot of beach hopping. The first day we went to Reddington Beach, Maderia Beach, Treasure Island and John's Pass. The second day we explored the Apollo Beach area and saw the manatee community out by the power plant. The third day we went to the science museum near Busch Gardens and then over to Clearwater Beach. The fourth day we went to Terre Verde, De Soto Beach and the De Soto Fort. De Soto Beach was my favorite Beach. Mostly untouched because it is a State Park. We rented a couple of bicycle surreys and peddled them on a bike path for an hour. We were quick to see who was out of shape! Last week: Tampa, Florida-White sand, hot sun and blue, blue water . This week: Allison, Iowa-White snow, no sun, wind, and COLD!
Here's another cool picture. We fed bread to the seagulls and they came real close!

| Christmas carols are playing and I'm procrastinating. Thanksgiving week was fun. Sarah, Bekah and Josh visited through Saturday. They have since returned to school to finish the last 3 weeks of the semester. Elizabeth, Kevin and I arrived at Staples at 6:00 AM Friday morning to join the throngs of pj clad people with bad breath . We didn't get everything we went for. People started camping in front of the electronics stores at 3 AM. I don't camp in front of stores.
Upon returning home on Friday I re made Bekah's Christmas formal for her so it would fit right. From the trimmings I will be making a bow tie for Josh to wear with his tux. Sarah's dress needed a few minor stitches.
I have literally PILES of work to do.
